My Harp Boris
Why did I take up the Harp ?
Good question !!
In 2004, I enrolled in a Graduate Diploma in Music Therapy at UTS and as part of the course I had to improve my piano skills and take up another instrument.
While still at school, I had wanted to learn the Harp as an elective music subject but was told “...no one plays the harp these days!”
However, there were no such hurdles this time, and I began the search for a Harp, finally meeting
Warwick Tout-Smith from Harps Australia.
He guided me through the maze of harps to a 30 string model called a Waratah which suited my needs perfectly.
I christened the harp Boris and began my journey into the rich sounds, traditions and history of this wonderful instrument.
